I'm surprised you haven't heard of Morel Mushrooms before. They are considered a real delicacy. Somehow they have never been able to be grown commercially and are only found in the wild for a few short weeks each spring. You have to be careful that you know for sure what you are picking is a morel because many wild mushrooms are poisonous. In Michigan up north there are even towns that have Morel Mushroom festivals.
