That squirrel is being a little piggy! He is pretty though. Apparently all that nice suet and seed has given him a nice shiny coat.

Love how that tail just wraps right up along the back. Extra warmth, maybe?

Pigeon, Seems like many people are blogging about squirrels these days. Our squirrels here are the old gray ones--not as pretty as yours. We don't have too many squirrels --and luckily we had a heavy mast crop this fall, so they have plenty to eat. They don't come to our feeders --at least not yet..

Thanks!
Hugs,
Betsy

I bought my first bird feeder (actually, two) and a suet cage this weekend. I hung the suet cage on the maple tree. I noticed today that someone has taken a few nibbles. Wonder if that someone has a bushy tail? I'll be watching..

Yea... It doesn't take long for the squirrels to find the suet/seed. Wow, that first one really has a handful. I fought the squirrels and raccoons all summer. Sometimes I would find my feeders way out in the back yard all busted up. Finally Craig made me these huge squirrel baffles to hang on the poles and they work great, they even keep the raccoons off. He made them out of chimney stove pipe. I've also read that the best way to keep the squirrels off the feeders is to divert them with their own feeding area. Don't know how you feel about that. After a while all this critter feeding gets expensive. I'm in the process of making a squirrel feeder. I'll be posting about it soon.
